New Jersey casino group involved in business litigation

Residents of Camden often take the short trip to Atlantic City to enjoy the casinos and resorts available on the state's coast. However, despite all of the glitter and glamour of the casino gaming floors, some businesses in the Atlantic City entertainment industry are struggling to keep their doors open. One organization that is practically synonymous with the entertainment destination was recently pulled into a difficult business litigation matter.

The owners of the Caesar's Entertainment Corporation were recently sued by parties that claim to be creditors to the organization. The lawsuit alleges that the creditors are owned more than $1 billion and that Caesar's showed preferential treatment to some of its properties in favor of others. Specifically, the creditors who have initiated this business dispute with Caesar's claim that while the Harrah's Resort Atlantic City received funding for improvements three other Caesar's properties were allowed to close earlier this year.

Proving that Caesar's actions of allegedly allowing for the unequal distribution of resources to different properties violated some term of a business agreement may be difficult for the creditors in this suit. Businesses are generally allowed to operate within the purview of their own expertise and, pending state or federal legislation prohibiting certain actions, businesses can generally do and contract for what they want. As this matter plays out more details surrounding the creditors' claim may become known.

Throughout New Jersey businesses large and small are subject to litigation over a variety of matters. Many organizations make the smart move and seek to get the most accurate information about their unique situation to help them through their legal challenges.
